School policies, guidelines and expectations are to ensure safety and accountability for students and the instructor.
- We offer individual in-car training only. All our lessons are with a single student in the car with one Instructor. No other students or any other person or people will be in the vehicle during the lesson.
- Driving lesson time begins as soon as the student enters the car and must present their driver’s licence to the instructor. Student’s must have their driver’s licence, on hand, at all times during every lesson.
- ICBC requires driving schools to collect students’ driver licence information, and the driving school ensures that this information is kept safe and confidential.
- In car driving lessons are a minimum of 1 hour in length, with at least 55 minutes of practical driving and 5 minutes to review the training session.
- Students are required to ensure proper hygiene to maintain a clean and safe environment, minimize the spread of germs in close proximity, and protect the health and well-being of both the student and instructor.
- Clothes must be clean and free of dust, dirt, and animal fur as the next student may have allergies.
- Smoking, e-cigarettes, vaping or residual odour of any is strictly prohibited and students will not be permitted to participate in driving lessons.
- Please wear appropriate and comfortable clothing during driver training. Flip flops or sandals are not suitable for driving.
- The student is responsible for any traffic violations incurred due to their negligent driving. If the student driver engages in a traffic accident, applicable fees will apply toward the cost of the accident.
Payment, Refund and Cancellation Policy
- Payment must be made prior to any driving lesson or car rental for a road test.
- Payments must be made via E-Transfer to hopedrivingschool@telus.net or 604-869-1470.
- Cash or other forms of payment will be accepted with prior approval.
- 48-hour notice must be provided for cancellation of driving lesson or car rental for a road test.
- There will be no refund for lessons that have already taken place.
- The school may cancel appointments due to unforeseen circumstances; students will be notified promptly, and the lesson will be rescheduled.
- Lessons may be canceled without a refund if the student is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if they use abusive or aggressive language.
- Cancellations must be communicated 48 hours in advance via email to hopedrivingschool@telus.net or text to 604-869-1470.
- Cancellations made 24-48 hours before the lesson will incur a 50% fee.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the lesson will be charged the full amount.
- If a student fails to show up or is more than 10 minutes late, the lesson will be charged in full without a refund.
- If an ICBC examiner refuses you to take your road test for any reason which is not related to the driving school, then we will charge you the full chargeable amount for reservation of the car and our instructor’s time.
